Anne Hathaway�s Ex Arrested On Fraud Charges

The former boyfriend of ‘Get Smart’ star Anne Hathaway, was arrested on Tuesday (June 24) on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering, authorities have confirmed.
According to the charges, Raffaello Follieri led investors to believe he had connections to the Vatican that allowed him access to buy the Catholic Church’s unwanted U.S. real estate at a cheap rate.
In addition, the 29-year-old also allegedly claimed he managed the Vatican’s financial affairs and met with the Pope.
He is expected to appear in Manhattan court on Tuesday.
Reports that Hathaway broke it off with Follieri have circulated over the past couple of weeks, however, there has been no official comment from the actress or her management at the time of writing.

Canadian Idol Top 24: Theo Tams

Making it to the Canadian Idol Top 24 is a blessing for Theo Tams. And now that he�s here, it�s nothing like he expected for many reasons.

�I try everything once,� says Tams, 22, from Lethbridge, Alta. �The surprise has just been the talent in this pool and I just never expected it to be this good. Compared to other seasons, this talent is really good.�

Though Tams is confident in his ability to sing and perform well, he says it�s hard to tell how far he�ll get because of all that talent surrounding him.

Tams was so nervous to audition in front of the celebrity judges that he walked into the room with huge sweat stains under his arm pits � and they were noticeable.

�I sweat like crazy -- and I mean like crazy -- but I walked in there and they were like �you look really nervous� and I was so nervous,� he says. �And then I sang � they�re like �yeah, that�s it.� They were really supportive.�

That audition was probably the most nervous time for Tams, mostly because it was so unpredictable � he saw people he thought were getting through to the next round of the contest be sent home.

No matter what, being on the show is an experience Tams will never forget.

�The big thing I�ve learned is that you cannot go on that stage in this competition and not know who you are as an artist,� says Tams. �And I already know who I am and what I want to do� you have to go out there as if it�s your last day.�

Ashlee and Pete Fall into Engagement

Looks like Ashlee Simpson can finally rest her head on something real. The pop star and her alt-beau Pete Wentz are engaged, according to a statement posted Wednesday by the couple on the networking site FriendsorEnemies.com. "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged," Simpson wrote. "Thank you for all of your support and well wishes—it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us."A source close to the couple tells E! News that Wentz asked the Simpson family patriarch Joe for his permission at one point over the last two weeks."He doesn't look like it, but Pete is a very traditional guy, and he knows Joe is too," the source said. "He never would have asked her without Joe's permission." Joe likes Wentz because "he is not Nick Lachey," the insider added. "Pete is the furthest thing from a macho man, and Joe likes that.""It just means that he hasn't asked my dad yet," Simpson hinted in February when asked about the "promise ring" she was sporting while taping an interview for Fuse TV's The Sauce. (For the record, she also denied the ever-ready pregnancy rumor.) Simpson and the Fall Out Boy bassist have been dating since late 2006, although both initially denied rumors of a burgeoning romance. But by mid-2007, the starry-eyed duo were all about the relationship dish, with Wentz telling In Touch, "I have never met somebody who makes me feel the way she makes me feel." But although the connection is obviously there, Wentz wouldn't venture so far as to guess what his fiancée might want to wear on the big day. “I would not even try to step in and design Ashlee’s wedding dress,” Wentz told E! Online Senior Editor Marc Malkin on Wednesday—shortly before announcing the big news—while discussing plans for his new clothing line, Clandestine. “I don’t think she would want that—thank God. Tila Tequila Plans Meaningful Life After Dating Show

Reality TV star TILA TEQUILA has vowed to walk away from fame after she finds love on her latest dating show A SHOT AT LOVE - so she can pursue a more "meaningful life".

The 26-year-old star - real name Tila Nguyen - insists she is looking forward to post-celebrity life, and blasts socialite Paris Hilton for dragging out her 15 minutes of fame.

Tequila says, "I wanna do meaningful stuff. After a while you reach your goals and then what? You just prance around like Paris Hilton all day long and feel like you have to find the next scandal to stay big.

"This lifestyle is fun and I worked hard for it, but I think in the long run, it's a lot. I just wanna be in love for the rest of my life and move to an island and have kids."

In A Shot at Love, the bisexual star auditions male and female suitors in her quest for a lover.
